Russian Hill is located to the north of its Nob Hill and to the west of North Beach. It stretches almost to the pier where it touches the touristy Fisherman's Wharf to the north. Russian Hill is infamous for its hilly terrains – so hilly, in fact, that certain sidewalks consist merely of steep, ever-rising staircases.

A Russian Hill apartment would be quieter than its bustling Nob Hill neighbor, but would still provide access to the most exciting areas of the city. Like Nob Hill, Russian Hill apartments offer some of the most startling and exhilarating views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay, the Financial District, and even Marin County and Alcatraz. Many corners of Russian Hill are iconic of San Francisco. Lombard Street, which rambles through the neighborhood, is famous as "the world's crookedest street". Alice Marble Park and Ina Coolbrith Park are favorites among the locals for views of the city and stretches of green grass for napping, tanning and reading. Russian Hill is also home to the famous Spanish-style San Francisco Art Institute.

Residents of Russian Hill apartments have access to the hustle and bustle of the city without being overwhelmed by it. Several bus lines, as well as the famous San Francisco Cable Car, carry residents from Russian Hill to downtown. Residents can access important places on foot, including the entertainment at Fisherman's Wharf and Ghiradelli Square, the delicious Italian cuisine in North Beach, the numerous Chinese markets and dim sum in Chinatown, and the beaches of the Marina. Biking is also popular; however, the hilly nature of Russian Hill makes that option more difficult.
