The Marina neighborhood in San Francisco borders the Bay to the North, with Cow Hollow, the Presidio, and Russian Hill along the East, South, and West. The Marina is situated close to the Golden Gate Bridge, and is somewhat of a trek from downtown San Francisco.

Many Yachts and Sailing Clubs dot the coast of the Marina, offering Bay adventures for anyone with enough guts to try. Additionally, the Marina contains the Exploratorium, a destination for children as well as adults. The Exploratorium, which is located at the Palace of Fine Arts, is a favorite wedding photo site for newly weds.

With such an abundance of outdoor activities, it's no wonder that a Marina District apartment is a bit of a distance from downtown San Francisco. Professionals commuting to the financial district from Monday-Friday have to take two buses when relying on public transportation, and the ride can take up to 45 minutes. Distances to other exciting areas of San Francisco, however, like Telegraph Hill, North Beach, and Russian Hill are much more easily accessed.
